New York, NY (Vocus) April 7, 2009 -- The iGeneration artist MC Lars unleashes his highly anticipated new project - This Gigantic Robot Kills - out now on Crappy Records in three formats, digitally, as a physical CD (with a booklet featuring complete lyrics and original art) and as a MC Lars branded USB flash drive Robot (1 gig, pre-loaded with the complete This Gigantic Robot Kills release, The Green Christmas EP release, a digital booklet pdf, cover art and the Quick Time file of the "Guitar Hero Hero" music video).

In support of the release, MC Lars premiered the video for his first single “Guitar Hero Hero (Beating Guitar Hero Doesn’t Make You Slash)” in his trend setting YouTube video podcasts series. The single features “the Mayor of YouTube” Parry Gripp from Nerf Herder on vocals and the brilliant Paul Gilbert from Mr. Big and Racer X on guitar. MC Lars is currently featured on AltPress.com and SPIN.com, in national promos for the G4 channel and he was a roving reporter for Billboard.com at SXSW 2009. To release the instant Nerdcore classic This Gigantic Robot Kills, Lars teamed up with the new imprint, Crappy Records, formed by label executive Carl Caprioglio, producer Linus of Hollywood and Bowling for Soup frontman Jaret Reddick, with the new label distributed by the Fontana/Universal label Oglio Records.

“While other MCs may angrily shove something in your face to demand attention, Lars has made the decision to persuade by getting listeners to laugh at themselves. This is one of the key characteristics of the tongue-in-cheek nerdcore subgenre that he has unwillingly pioneered along with rappers like MC Frontalot…” - URB

This Gigantic Robot Kills, is dedicated to the DIY icon Wesley Willis, a major influence for MC Lars. They first met at a CMJ Conference in 2000 and remained friends until Wesley’s untimely passing (Lars tells the complete story in the liner notes for the CD). MC Lars included the classic Wesley Willis audio of "Lars Horris, I like your song, I'm gonna write a song about you. I'll probably write it on my next rock and roll record for it is called This Gigantic Robot Kills." as the intro for the track “True Player For Real”.

To complete This Gigantic Robot Kills, MC Lars also called on Weird Al, members of Wheatus, Simple Plan, Suburban Legends, The Aquabats, Cobra Starship, The Donnas, Parry Gripp, Paul Gilbert, Jesse Dangerously, Amie Miriello, Jonathan Coulton, K. Flay, The Former Fat Boys, his tour mates MC Frontalot and YT Cracker and more. MC Lars has toured extensively for the last three years creating a solid fanbase the old fashioned way, with a great live show fronting a band backed with genre defying multi-media visuals. He has opened for the likes of Bowling For Soup, Gym Class Heroes, Bayside, Streetlight Manifesto, Simple Plan, Say Anything and much more. MC Lars is currently touring the UK and Australia with the United States leg of the This Gigantic Robot Kills Tour scheduled for May.
